Ryan and his crew had the track in excellent shape!! As always there was stiff competition in most classes. It was a pleasure seeing Mike Brown race 3 classes. The 50 classes are still growing and that is a good sign that Motocross is recovering. It is fascinating how fast the 50 riders are and how competitive!!

The history of Lake Sugartree is amazing. One of the first motocross tracks on the east coast. They hosted TRANS-AMA events in the 70s, AMA Nationals from 1986-1991. All the great riders have raced or trained at Lake Sugartree.

Saturday night Supercross was was exciting with non stop action!!
All the classes were competitive with the 50cc classes stealing the show! It is a good sign for motocross that the 50cc classes continue to increase in numbers.
Sunday’s highlights were the Pro Am races. In the first 450 Pro Am moto some of the riders were penalized for jumping on the red cross flag setting the stage for a fierce battle in moto 2.
At the start of moto 2 Nic Hayes grabbed the holeshot with Mike Brown in tow. The crowd lined the fences as Nic Hayes held off Mike Brown until 2 laps to go. Nic Hayes came out of the first turn into the downhill approach to Mount Deacon, that is when Mike Brown seized the opportunity for the lead by jumping an incredible distance for the pass and to go for the moto win!!!

Mark and his Krusty Crew had the track in the best shape I have ever seen it in. It takes a lot of very hard work to prep and water a Motocross Track for a hot summer day race.
Job well done!!
Racing was intense as the heat! The turn out for the 50cc racing was awesome. It is impressive watching how fast they can go on a track with holes and big braking bumps created by the full size bikes. Line choice is critical for the 50s.
A big thank you for all that braved the heat this weekend!!

Round 15, October 26/27 of the AMA Liquid Performance US Eastern MX Championship Series presented by RV Outlet USA and the 17 Annual Halloween Bash was at Lake Sugar Tree in Axton, VA.

The Halloween costume and pumpkin carving contest were spooktacular, with lots of creativity!!
Late Saturday night and Sunday morning it rained off and on.
Practice was postponed a few hours. Ryan and the LST crew did an amazing job of getting the track prepped. Only 1 moto per class was raced because of the late start.
Thank you to all that attended this festive Motocross event!

Round 03 April 14, 2019 Round 3 of the Liquid Performance-Fly Racing US Eastern MX Championship Series presented by RV Outlet USA. Rain on Saturday canceled the practice to have the track in shape for Sunday’s Race. Mark and his Crusty Crew worked hard to prepare the track and had it in awesome condition for Sunday’s Racing! If you did not come to race on Sunday because you thought it would be muddy you missed out on a perfect track and day for racing. Racing motocross is about overcoming challenges and stepping out of your comfort zone. What happened to Motocross being Rain or Shine??

Great turn out in all the classes made for some competitive racing.
PeeWee 50 classes are continuing to grow. With each race you can see how their skills have improved.
Ryan and his crew did an excellent job of preparing the track. It is extremely difficult to prep a MX track in hot dry conditions.
Did you know Honda Factory Rider David Bailey once owned and operated LST?
He was a Team Honda superstar, a champion both outdoors and inside the stadiums, and a Team USA hero at the Motocross and Trophee des Nations.
He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2004.

Round 9 July, 22 Pro Sport MX Wytheville, Virginia the Thor Mega Series, Parts Unlimited Ultra Series, Liquid Performance US Eastern MX Championship presented by RV Outlet USA
It was a beautiful day Sunday for racing the temperature dropped into the middle eighties with a gentle breeze.
The Victory Sports crew did an outstanding job in every aspect of this event.
For the first time in many years this event was an AMA Virginia District 13 Championship Series which was well attended.
The highlight of Pro Sport MX is the jump over Walker’s Mountain. It is named after pro rider Kevin Walker.
The minimum distance is 150 feet to just over the crest with many riders jumping more than that. The real skill is not only jumping it, but is the downhill landing with about 50 feet or less to a hard right turn. People line the fence to watch the riders soar over the mountain. This jump ranks in the top five in the USA.
If you have not raced or spectated at this beautiful mountain track it is a must attend.
A BIG thank you to everyone who attended and participated in this event!!!
